There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

I do sprout, but this is a mammoth entry and I've been exceptionally busy recently. Will try and go through some more of it.

No problem - as long as it hasn't slipped down the back of the sofa, I'm quite happy to be patient.

But while I'm being patient, I'll continue bumping the entry up once a week.

Hi Sprout,
Well the bumping worked, at least I noticed it and enjoyed a good read, pulls together a lot of the issues.

Nit picking but you jump from talking about tonnes and kgs. EU units, then quote $US for the global spend. Might be better in Euros but then I'm a Europhile and they can't touch me for it.

The current issue around incineration is disposal of the bottom ash that I think restricts what can be incinerated as the ash is disposed of in land fill sites.

It might also be worth quoting the current Honda advert which refers to their facility made out of recycled cars.

Keep on bumping
WA

Hi WA

I bumped this and then forgot about your reply. Oops.

The $ are in there because that's the unit the OECD works in, and I got the figure from them. But I can go with € or £ or µ, no problem.

Incineration always produces residues which need to be landfilled or possibly used in construction. Recycling produces residues as well. The trick is to deal with as much as possible as high up the hierarchy as possible.

Can't see Honda advert - it's not on in Belgium.

I'll see if I can put any of those points in.

any more for any more?

Great entry, and well written. Well done.

If you don't mind my being pedantic, I have noticed a few minor grammatical errors:

- 'industrial waste has been significant reduced over the last thirty years' - change 'significant' to 'significantly'.

- Note 7 is missing a parenthesis.

- 'three categories of waste (hazardous, inert, or other) must be separated' - comma after the closing bracket.

- 'It's difficult to say whether this is a good thing: Every year' - 'every' does not need a capital letter.

Actually, they're so minor you could leave them to the sub-ed if you wanted. Up to you.

I'd really like to see this one in the Edited Guide.
Anyone have any more thoughts?

I agree. This has stayed in PR far too long, it should be recommended as soon as possible.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
