Ancient societies, Secret Codes, a Satanic knights tour and a Magic Square:

The Satanic Knights tour as an aid to solving ancient
mysteries:
Supposing, just supposing that in medieval times, you were
running an Ancient and Mystical Order with great treasures to hide (None shall be
mentioned here by name because it really does not pay to p**s these people off.)
Imagine for a moment you were ‘The Grand Hoopa-doop’ of some
Mystical society with many valuable and dark secrets to protect, then what you
needed was a method of encoding your information in such a way that only those
schooled in the Societies arts and rituals would be able to access it, what you
needed was a secret code.
Transposition Cryptography:
One method of encrypting your
information was called tranposition. In transposition the message was usually
written, in rows of letters arranged in a rectangular block without word divisions, .
The letters are then transposed in a pre-arranged order i.e. following the moves in a
knight's tour, as was used to encrypt the secret message at Rennes-le-Chateau, the message is then either readable as plain text or is ready for the next
stage of deciphering.
A Knight’s tour in Chess:
A "knight tour" is a sequence of legal knight moves which does not move onto a
square previously occupied. A "complete knight tour" is one in which every square of
the chess board has been visited exactly once. A "closed knight tour" is a complete
tour which returns to the
square it began. An "open knight tour" is a complete tour which does not return to it's
starting position.
Which Knight’s tour would you
choose?:
Obviously you would chose a knights tour because you are the
Knights of your order, but considering that there are millions of knight tours to chose
from which one should it be?
It would be extremely tempting to chose
one that had both mathematical and symbolic properties if it were possible to find
such a tour........Say for example a ‘CLOSED’ knight tour that started
and returned to the ‘WHITE QUEENS’ square, yes yes yes. not only
that but when all the moves are numbered on the board and the ROWS are added
they all come to ‘260’. and....and when the COLUMNS are added
they also come to ‘260’....... Awe come on, you wouldn’t be
able to help yourself. This would be your secret code. Smug in the knowledge that
no one would ever crack it, you would cheerfully entrust your most valuable
information to it’s safekeeping where it would be safe, safe from prying eyes,
safe from all until......Well until now actually, because I've worked it out.

Magic square?:
The true 'Magic square' enthusiasts among you will notice that the two diagonal
rows from corner to corner do not add up to 260 prove that this is not a true 'Magic
square'. To you I will say: (a). Get a life, and (b). People of good reputation say that It
is not possible to make a magic square using the combination of numbers involved.
Unless of course you know different???
So why The "Satanic" Knight's Tour?:
Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the
beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is 666.
Just for fun here are a couple of
little oddities about the tour I discovered while playing with crosses.....

43+ | 93+ | 203 | 203 | 45+ | 79 | = | 666 |
Or perhaps the even more
disturbing

For the Grand Hoopa-doops, Alchemists and Sorcerers of the past,
who were engaged in the search for secret and mystic numbers, all of the above would
be filled with symbolic meaning and powerful mysticism. You and I on the other hand
know that all this is just playing with numbers
and these crosses bear no resemblance to, say, the Crosses of ancient orders or the Crosses of the Crucifixion so we can afford to laugh at their naivety.
