I went away from Blighty and left my heart behind.
I feel it does belong there, as do my soul and mind.
I know they're in the best hands I possibly could find,
And that you'll take good care of them, in that my trust is blind.
I'm not completely gone, although I'm far away,
Alas, my body is stuck here, much to my dismay.
But if I'm very lucky, there may just come the day
Where I return to Blighty and find the means to stay.
