Webbed toes

15 Conversations

Webbed toes are not just confined to the amphibian world, humans can have them too. However it is not very common to have webbed toes.

Most commonly the second and third toes are webbed or joined by skin and flexible tissue that reaches either part way up the toes or nearly all the way up.

Relatively simple surgery can separate the toes if desired. However there are four blood vessels that go to each toe and separating the toes can sometimes sever some of these vessels, causing a partial loss of feeling and numbness.

One of the most famous bearers of webbed toes is Rachel Stevens of the teeny pop group SClub7.
