I suppose I could dig up some info on comets and the Oort Cloud/Kuiper Belt and h2g2-ise it, or so.
Better yet, you could check out my astronomy lecturer's notes on it (best lecturer in the world), at http://msowww.anu.edu.au/~pfrancis/astr1002/www4_comets/ (or www4_comets.ppt if you want the whole thing as a PowerPoint presentation). It has all this cool stuff like theories about Nemesis and Planet X, why the Oort Cloud shouldn't exist, etc...

OK. I'm going to go through the Solar System pages tonight (my time) and see if there's anything I can add. My three projects are all completed! So now I can help out someone else...

Thanks! If you feel like writing an entry on the Moon you'd be most welcome I apologise in advance for all the dodgy science you find, I keep meaning to check all my 'facts' but don't seem to have gotten around to it yet...

Well I emailed Peta a couple of weeks ago and then again this week about stuff, but she's not adressing queries until the uni goes online so to speak...

Ah. I never did get around to helping out last night. I wrote up an entry about stellar magnitudes instead. (It was something that was on my mind at the time)
I'm going to be free most of Saturday so I'll give it a go then and see what I can add. If things look promising, maybe I'll give the moon a shot as well?

I take it you've not been here: http://www.h2g2.com/A302239
That would be great, Jimi. I've had Fragilis the Melodical read through them because grammer errors make themselves obvious to her in a way they don't to me... & for some reason I've taken right against the Moon. I've been putting it off 'cause I've no idea where to start...

CRAP! I'm going to start using the search engine - I promise!
Mine is at http://www.h2g2.com/A398801 - maybe they can be combined. I've got a couple of cute charts in mine!
As far as the Moon, I believe Julie Andrews once sang
~Let's start at the very beginning~

Thats a great idea. I've never been fully happy with mine but I figured that it may get approved or an editor could make it better. Cool charts!

Stars who are ~bright~??
Anyways, how do you think we should combine them? I don't know how such things work...

I think when the queue disappears we can list them together on the peer review page with a note that they should be combined into a single entry.
Pretty funny that we both gave credit to good old Hipparchus. I got the idea for this when I was doing the Messier objects list - most of them have a visual magnitude listed in the information blurb about each one. I never even thought to search the guide because it was such an odd topic - I figured there was no way that anyone would write about stellar magnitudes.
The bigger the Guide gets, the more we'll have to check I suppose!

I wrote it for completeness sake after I wrote the Sun & Binary Star systems... I'd written one on the Stellar Classification system, & figured that magnitudes was the next logical course of action...
I confess that experience has taught me that other ppl don't usually write entries on the things I think of, I don't normally search first either!

I've got a nice pile of stuff I haven't submitted because I was waiting for the announcement that the queue would be eliminated. I didn't want to clog up things any more than necessary.
