A Conversation for A Practical Definition of Pagan

The word Pagan can also be attributed to Pagus which in Latin means locality. I notice that this is a work in progress and I look forward to seeing it finished,as in it's present form it doesn't actually say much. Just discussing the title not saying anything about the beliefs.

I do mention pagus, being the root word from which paganus is derived. I give the definitions of "country" or "rual area" over that of "locality" because I am demonstrating the journey towards the modern connotation which is dependent on the the word 'pagan' be the ancient equivalent of 'rube' and 'hayseed'. This entry has been neglected since I tend to write in spurts, and was just about to start another. WATCH THIS SPACE!

Well I think (think, think, think) that this entry is done now. Any new thoughts?

I have not submitted it yet, I kind of wanted to see what some folk thought of it before I submitted it.... That's one in the "go for it" collumn!

I want to second an opinion I read in another forum. I think you should add a footnote about animism. It would be a useful addition. All in all, I think this is an excellent guide entry and you should submit it for approval.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Talene! Like I said over in that other forum, I think the subject of Animism would be great as an entry that could be linked to, instead of just a mere footnote.
