A Conversation for Talking Point: Modern Deadly Sins
Being sinful in the modern day

Sins to do with mobile phones – too numerous to count. My particular pet hates are when they ring in the theatre, or at Church (yes really!), or while we are in a meeting, and the person actually answers the thing! Or what about when it rings at someone’s desk and they have walked off or gone for lunch and the damn things rings every 20 seconds telling them they have a voicemail message?! Ooh, makes my blood boil. Especially with a crappy ring tone as well.
Sins to do with discussion boards or instant messaging – they are addictive and can lead you to not doing your work like you should do. And yes, I do confess that on a regular basis!
Supermarket bags – as a good Catholic girl, I now need to use reusable bags because otherwise I will not be environmentally friendly and I will toast my toes with the devil in eternal damnation. Unless I confess of course. Which I would rather not do. Because I don’t like doing it. (another post I think!!)
Throwing away food – I just think this is stupid, not necessarily sinful. When people are starving in other countries, wasting food is just stupid.
Reality TV – the only sin involved here is actually wasting time watching the damn stuff. Your brain will turn to mush!
Social networking – not sinful. Just a sad commentary on our society that this the only way for people to establish friendships.

Nicely done, Crickett!
I particularly like the mobile phone points.
Did you know that used plastic supermarket bags can be recycled into other plastic products like bottles, flotation devices, and packing materials? Still, you're right. Paper bags can be recycled into containers and such, too.
I also liked your views on wasted food. Partially because it is stupid, and partially be cause I just hate wasting in general. My problem is that I'll finish the leftovers and gain weight!
I don't actually do instant messaging, reality tv, or social networking online. I have online friends, but they don't spill over into real life; and vice versa.

never mind the food wasted on plates?...the real sin is the massive waste of food propogated by mass consumerism

I don't know but you can get one of the big 50-100 gallon tubs fill it with dirt then put some worms in then put extra food in there for a worm farm that eats spare food
also if you want them to grow faster run your leftover food through the blender before pouring it all in
