I had a Jay rooting around in the top of a trimmed tree in my garden today. Its commical moustachiode face peering over the tree top was amusing as it tilted its head to look out for danger. It was rewarded with some sort of bug which it flew away to eat elsewhere.

I always think of them as Sherlock Holmes - they look as if they need a pipe and a hat. When their crest comes up if they are agitated they look quite cross.
Lovely birds though and not everyone gets a chance to see one they are so shy.
