The Garden Of Love

The garden is deep
Like a vessel of milk
Storm fed flowers make its garland.

The garden is rich
With apples and oranges

Mangoes are gathered by children at play.

The garden is open
To saints and mourners alike,
Sandalwood and wild rosemary
Fill the air with strange memory:
Of agony and ecstasy
Of birth and dying.

The garden is a flower
An endless garland of love,
Is one knitted with leaves of devotion
For the invisible gardener;
Every stich of the needle,
Is a step to perfect the soil
For the garden of love.
