Talking Point: Fantasy 'Band Aid' Line-Ups!
Created | Updated Nov 17, 2004
With this week's eagerly-awaited first playing of the brand new Band Aid 20 single, the gang here at h2g2 Towers got to thinking. Whatever happened to Band Aids 3 through to 19?
Tonight Thank God It's Them Instead Of You...
After the original success of Band Aid in 1984 (Boy George, Sting, Spandau Ballet, George Michael, Bananarama) and Band Aid II in 1989 (Kylie, Sonia, Bros, Big Fun, Bananarama), we'd like to hear what your fantasy line-ups for the missing Band Aid 3, Band Aid 4, Band Aid 5... through to Band Aid 19 might have been.
Because we're very slightly demented, we'd like to know:
Which acts would have worked best together?
Would Bono have shown up to sing the same line every year?
Who would have been the 'spare' hanging around the studio with no lyrics to sing? (Stand up, Marilyn!)
Which acts were just too rubbish to ever get invited?
Which forgotten pop legends deserved to get a place on a charity singathon?
Do you agree that 'It's Not Band Aid Without Bananarama'?
If there had been a Band Aid in the 60s or 70s, which artists would you have approached to take part?
Join in our silly Talking Point - and don't forget to buy a copy of the Band Aid 20 single when it's released, eh? It's for a very good cause!
