OK, Jane Horrocks has something about her, but I think she'd make a better Lintilla.

Ray Winstone and Paul Merton for Bang Bang and Shooty. Angus Deyton for Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged. Rowan Atkinson for Slartybartfast. Rik Mayall for Gag Halfrunt.

I agree - but Rik Mayall for Gag Halfrunt? No, I think not, he just seems too, erm, well, un-Einstein-like.
He'd do a good Zaphod, though, if he went for the "Lord Flashheart" approach.

Have you ever seen 'Jonathon Creek'? You know how Rik played the police inspector in that who was all supercilious and so forth? Well, if he played that as Halfrunt (I've always pictured Gag as a slightly smarmy individual who would like to think that he was attractive to women and witty/debonaire/enjoyable company, but fails miserably), it'd be quite effective. I just think that he's got the right face.

'Lord Flashheart' wouldn't do for Zaphod. Too brash and loud. Zaphod's is more of an understated, laid-back egocentricism. Not at all like 'Flash'. Can you honestly imagine Zaphod barking at women?

There we go then.

I'd go with Richard E. Grant for Zaphod. Or possibly Ford
