Just a taste of the bush,i am hoping that other researchers will add their own experiences of either the bush or one of the camps within the kruger.

Funny that ... I've got one on Berg-en-Dal up my sleeve.
I'll read this in a minute. Good idea though.

I find it hard to read this objectively. Every now and again (in real life), I get the feeling I always got when driving through the entry gate at Malelane, or sitting on the stoep at Olifants (rondavel number nine). I've got my castle and my biltong, the coals are whitening nicely on the braai, and for the next 24hours/week, I don't have to think about anything else other than the whereabouts of the binoculars. Life is sweet. I love KNP. Always have, always will.
So, sorry for digressing, back to your entry.
1) Firstly, you're not allowed to refer to yourself, as in "... I have a few favourites regarding the differant camps, but if i had to pick one i think i would have to say Balule, ...". That'll need to come out.
2) As a whole, it'll probably benefit from a bit of structure. Geography. History. Facilities would make reading easier.
3) Future. You know, maybe, that plans are afoot to open up the borders with Mocambique and Zimbabwe to incorporate the parks across the borders, Gonarezhou (?) in Zimbabwe, dunno Mocambique. It could be worth a mention.
4) Punctuation. Not so important this, but you need to introduce a space after all the commas and full-stops.
5) Spelling. A few to check. differant, ciccadas, knarled; different, cicadas, gnarled.
Keep it up ... the hard work's done - you just need to fine-tune now.

Dear Dr,
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my effort, and even more so for your critique.I appreciate any honest criticism that i can get, and you are clearly correct with all of your comments.
I have been absent for a long time and am not quite sure of my way around h2g2,not that i ever was.Is there any way that i can get back into the article to make the corrections that you are advising?
I do know about the extensions to the park,i think it is going to be called the trans frontier park or something like that. However, i do not know too much about it, i guess that no one does at this stage.
Having just logged on for the first time in nearly two years i wanted to complete the piece and get it submitted before the park no longer existed in its current state (probably a mistake in retrospect)
Thanks again
Noname
PS....i know the feeling to the tee regarding the binocs...and the camera of course, more of a windhoek man myself though.Cheers

PS - "but managed to survive by killing the male who had taken him with his pocket knife" ...
This might need sorting out. A pedant might assume that the lion had the pocket knife. Or was that the case?

Much potential here.
I was a bit worried about this bit, though;
"It is still before 8.am and you have been up for 3 or 4 hours already...breakfast time. Dotted around the park are a few africans living in their huts, who look after a small area of land that has been partially cleared."
Not sure about the phrase "a fre africans living in their huts" - sounds a bit to dismissive, if you see what I mean....

Over all, this estry is a great read.
I have just one minor problem...
"It was the following year that ranger Wolhuter was attacked by lions, amazingly, after being dragged off for several hundred feet and badly mauled, he managed to survive by killing the male who had taken him using the pocket knife that he aways carried with him, then, with the kind of strength that only comes with shock and horror, he somehow hauled himself up a tree before the second of the two lions returned from chasing the horse."
That sentence should probably be at least two sentences and ummmm.... "the horse." What horse? Assuming it was Wolhunter's horse, you might want to say "Wolhunter's horse." If it wasn't Wolhunter's horse, I'd suggest changing it to "a horse."
That's just a bit of fine tuning, whihc is all I think this entry needs.

Thank you good people, comments noted and amendments made. I feel very slack about this piece now as i know i can improve it....i just don't seem to have much time in RL at the mo, and although not really a good excuse as i have my memory and the internet, i have left all my books in storage in SA.
When i get the time i am going to build on this article considerably.
Thanks again for your time and thoughts
regards

Looking good, Noname!
I wouldn't recommend adding much to this entry. There are sometimes concerns about an entry being too long. (This from the king of the long entry, who once had an entry broken down into six seperate entries!)
If, on the other hand, you meant that you intend to produce other entries that focus on different aspects of The Kruger National Park, GOOD! You've got a great writing style, IMO, and I'd like to see more.

Morning O,
Thank you very much for your comments, i am truly honoured and chuffed. I will take your advice then about this piece and just work on some sperate articles that do relate.
Could you tell me what IMO means? it is probably something simple but i cannot work it out.
Thanks once again, you have boosted my confidence considerably.
Best Regards

PS - IMO - In My Opinion?

Apologies for not responding sooner, Noname.
IMO does, indeed, stand for "In My Opinion," and is not to be confused with "IMHO," which is for "In My Humble Opinion," and only used when the writer is being unhumble in a rather big way.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Well done. It was me who picked the entry after fruitless hours looking through peer review. Sorry I didn't post at the time, but I was dealing with a serious attack of real life!! Great article.
