I don’t speak Latin either smiley - blush. I know a few words like “puella” (girl), “puer” (boy) “dominus” (master), “domus” (house), “caput” (head)… And I think that “domus” is declined in a peculiar way, isn’t it?

Vale! (good-bye)

katkodl, I just answered your question about 'domus', in perhaps more detail than was needed, on the teaching thread.

Gratias. Thanks. I'll find a fellow Latin speaker someday, I know I will. I've been trying to work in the potential of Latin conversation everywhere, like in my blurb on the Latin Wikipedia. Maybe someone will drop by...

Cat-Eyes: No..... why.... ?

Didn't Joe do some latin? Unfortunately our Editor, Joe C, (actually, don't quote me on him still being THE editor, I get confused about our title-thingies...) is having rather a lot of truble getting to computers recently (or rather, for a few months) since his internet got taken away, but we certainly know he will return with his salad sandwhich! (or whatever kind of sandwhich people believed Kat had popped out for)

...I really don't think I'm making sense...

It's like having a personal joke with yourself...

Shutting up now.

Ok, so my original point was Joe knows a small - medium - large amount of latin and will return at some stage. Whether he will help is another matter entirely

Actually shutting up now...

Greetings! I am Cthulhu, King of Balwyniti. I studied Latin for three years at University. In the beginning I hated poetry, but eventually my favourite author was Propertius. Now, as a result of neglect, my composition is a little slow. Nevertheless (I love that word!) I'll certainly enjoy this opportunity to practice! smiley - ok

Scisne tertius declentionem? Nisi tum docendum sum ad te.

smiley - star

Do you know 3rd declension? If not I should teach it to you.

That second sentence used a very strange thing called the passive periphrastic. It's exceedingly confusing and so ignore it. It's used to say 'ought' or 'should'.
