Oldest Christmas Present

Emmily ~ Roses are red, Peas are green, My face is a laugh, But yours is a scream

I still have, and use the jewellery box my mum bought me for Christmas nearly 30 years ago.

It’s looking discoloured and showing signs of age. The key to the lock, long since lost and the wind-up musical box is silent. The dancing ballerina was stolen a couple of years after I had the jewellery box, when my brothers had a party, a couple invaded my bedroom (and my bed) why they took the ballerina still baffles me. The replacement ballerina was never quite the same.

I’m gonna clean it up, back to the colour it should be, have the musical box repaired and get another ballerina, the lock’s not important, but I’m sure I can find a key to fit it, it’ll do just fine, for another 30 years. smiley - smiley

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear }

I only have two from my youth. A round "Batman" jigsaw puzzle, circa 1971. And "Rendezvous with Rama", a hard-cover no less !!! That one was from about 1975. And the paper-cover is worn from the number of readings.
