Mars is not the nearest
jandhm Started conversation Mar 11, 2005
Mars is not the nearest planet to Earth: Venus is. It is however the most like Earth - perhaps that is what was meant by nearest?
It doesn't look good though, when my daughter searches google to find which is the nearest planet to Earth, gets a string of websites saying Venus, and one from a BBC site saying it's Mars!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
