Just a thought, but should property 1. in the proof be: "any *integer* multiplied by two is even"?

Pedantic maybe, but then Maths is smiley - winkeye

Good article BTW. If you want any input on the Maths projects, I may be of some use (1st class BSc in Maths and Philosophy, and currently doing a PhD in theoretical Computer Science). Drop me a line on my home space if you want any input.

Thanks... sorry about the delay but I only just got around to revisting this article. smiley - smiley

I will edit it now. I want to be precise after all.

The first project, "Numbers and Logic" is almost finished but I will be starting a new one soon. It is currently a toss up between "Great Figures of Mathematics (and their mistakes)", "Analysis" and "Complex Numbers". Any ideas which to choose? I want to cover all the groundwork needed before any project so that Guide readers already have the knowledge availiable. Makes it easier to follow... like a maths course really.

I reckon the former would be the best bet - it'd be an interesting one for a start, and would help give readers a basic groundng in maths anyway, if links to your Numbers and Logic are included in the appropriate places. Especially if done in historical order.

Cheers,

SW

Could you help me with it? It would be an article per mathematician ranging from Pythagorus, Diophantus and Euclid to Euler, Poincare and Wiles.

Sure. I'm fairly busy at the moment, but if you set up the project, I'll pick a Mathematician and work on an article. It'd be an interesting project I think.
