Sorry it's taken me so long after reading your story to post this. I've just read it again. It's a good story with a great ending, but I got a bit lost in the middle.
It has a certain ring of truth – I've known women like your antagonist.
IMHO, there are too many unidentified characters. Having the main couple as "him" and "her" is great, but I think the other characters should have ordinary first names to help the narrative make more sense.
Having said that, I really enjoyed reading it.
