Your Dad and mine would have got on like a house on fire!
Their's was an extraordinary generation, raised by Edwardians with minds broadened by travel thanks to HM's Armed Forces.
The house sorting is something I would like to with my Dad, I know my mother had always intended her and I to do that task, she always thought she would outlive him. But he refuses, says he couldn't face it and it will be so much easier for us to do without him there. Which is probably true as he would get very sad about throwing things out and old memories being raised. He is such a softie underneath!

He sounds like a right fine gentleman. The wonderful gifts left to us by his like are the children who carry on, who having matured under that kind of influence, can't help but make the world a finer place to be. Its a legacy to be proud of and thank you for sharing it with us.

Thank you, spynxxx1. It was my parents' wedding anniversary on Friday. They were married 57 years ago. I miss them both.
