Here's a question for you - do you think you know more Person History, Place History or Period History? I definately seem to be concentrating on Place at the moment.

I seem to be a person historian. Hence my continual additions to the obit page. I've done research into the interconnectiveness of the european royal families, and have a database with over 20,000 coneections on it.

I cover most periods and places do crop up, but I collect biographies, I suppose.

That sounds fair. I want to be more Period related - but it's harder to find good cheap books on periods on time. If you go to shops, they sell guidebooks of local areas cheaply, so I tend to get them.
I want to know more about everything.

Well all we need then are a few period specialists and we'll have the lot covered. smiley - winkeye

Looks like it - but if you are doing all the people, and I am doing all the places involved in history - looks like we've got A LOT of work to do between us. smiley - bigeyes

Hi SDD, with your large royal family database could you tell me why my gran who was a laundrymaid at Osborne House always called Queen Victoria Mrs. Guelph(not to her face)? The only mention I could find was:- Guelphs & Ghibellines, Italian political parties... I don't see where that fits in. Would appreciate your help.
Regards. Mike.

To tell you the truth I have no Idea. However there are recent reports of an muslem John Brownesqu charactor who may have been present int he household at the time your gran was at Osborne HOuse. I have no idea where the Guelph's came into it though.
