When I press 'mark all read' in My Conversations the red highlights disappear, which is good. But the next time I click on 'My Conversations' they are all back. Marking individually is no different.
Am I doing something wrong? I am using Brunel if that makes a difference.

The My Converstations window is all done using Javascript, and keeps all the date information in the url, and doesn't save it anywhere. A more permanent solution has been discussed, but it would be difficult to do, and would slow things down a lot.

Nope, no javascript, just extra mega long urls with all the state info in them. It is on the feature list to have some way of permanently marking things as read, but it would add quite a bit of overhead all over the place, so it's a right pain.

Nothing compared to ww2, it's got a whole dom implementation in javascript for their fancy templating system.

h2g2 has a load of javascript for their smiley and tag buttons. Have you ever looked at the source code for AddThread and UserEdit in brunel?

Yes, and it's all tailored to IE, which means that they don't work very well in Mozilla, I'm also a Goo fan!

Fair enough. While I'm here, I guess that 'yesterday' means between 24 and 48 hours ago - which will often be the day before yesterday.

Yes, it's yesterday as if you are posting at 1 minute to midnight. Otherwise it is doesn't correspond with actual times, because that would be difficult when people use the site from all timezones.
