Hi
I would be happy to give it a go.
Please also let me know the location of the barn, and the general style of construction, materials size as well

Barn

Hi Bob,
The barn was of half timbered construction with brick footings and beam soil plate with beam uprights and a tile roof. The cladding was just board lapping that had been replaced by brick about 50 years ago. I have a photo of the nails I have recovered and would copy it to you if I knew how to add an attachment to this message. I have tried to estimate its age by looking for the barn on old maps. The nail information I have suggests it might be pre 1800 but I could do with more experienced help.
The Barn is in worcestershire.
Let me know if you require more information.
Kind regards,
Geoff

The description could be from 1400 on I need a pickey(s) and a grid ref as the view from google earth could be very revealing.
The timber wall plate was a very early feature the design and floor plan with sizes will reveal a lot.
