Sorry DD, missed you there. RL playing up again, and then I decided to trawl the OTD stuff. Actually i think QMike is off in the slightly later a.m., if my flight in March was anything to go by. Certainly my flight 2 years ago was at 8 or 9pm from Heathrow.
So you never know, we might just see him again. (well I won't as I will be asleep after this nightshift, and then will be entertaining my sister who has just arrived from Oz )

There were crashes, thunderstorms, ISP flake-outs, but the Party Spirit prevailed.

That, plus other party matters, kept me offline, except for a long period in the middle of my day when I was the only person online, it seemed. I had a conversation with our Mike on IM, and he CLAIMED that he hadn't packed yet. This would have been at about 7 pm his time!

The family leaves for Heathrow from Plymouth in, let's see, about 3 hours.

And he'll be back in five weeks. Meanwhile, you have to know that he is really thrilled to have all these adult friends, or researchers claiming to be adults who are also his friends.

Look at all this stuff. Shall I finally start drinking beer?

Odra, I picked this up at the cafe on my way in. *hands her Bahb's sax* If you blow nicely, maybe some blue dust will come out.

Light blue dust sifts through the air, casting a sparkle over the room, falling lightly onto sleeping partygoers and decorating the smorgasbord table (though magically missing the food)*

I was just wondering that myself, as I thought it about time they had a feed. I hadn't noticed the last time thay had been given anything, apart from donut crumbs. No doubt Ook will have helped himself to variuos articles to keep the pair of them going.

Everybody had a hearty feed this morning just before Quorthon stopped by. Violet is on a windowsill in my studio -- I wanted to keep her out of the way of elbows and such -- but Ook and Mindspring could be anywhere. They have a few habits in common, like hanging about in trees.

*drinks her beer, observes the dust, and notices that colours are becoming intenser*

Sounds ok by me. At the end of the day Lil, it's your bot, so you have to be happy with the name. Everyone else will have to get used to it, whether they like it or not.

There were some good suggestions, but I just don't have the energy to trawl back through the threads and collect them right now. I have to get used to my cyernephew being away for a while, no IM window popping up onscreen all afternoon.

I'll take the decorations down tomorrow and start another conversation thread, but that doesn't mean y'all can't still hang out here and act weird. That's what we usually do, although we have our substantive-discussion side too.

Ook really ought to go back to the cafe tomorrow at the latest, although of course he can come back to see Springie. Yes, she is named after the ISP. But I don't like her to wander unsupervised, not that she can get far.

Lil, is Minoova named after Cab Calloway's Minnie (friend of Betty Boop), or Minerva, Roman goddess of wisdom, war, and liberal arts (per and old D. Webster pub.)?
