How bizzare!
Not these days anyway. It's ok. I can handle my Internet Addiction.
Really I can.

PS - Healing Hands - you wouldn't do my towels while you are in the Laundry Room, would?
Pretty Please?

Well, I voted for the nastiest of the pictures.
I rather like the story of the young man who went into the news agent to buy 20 Marlboro. "No, not the ones that kill me, I'll have the ones that lower my sperm count please".
I suppose that it is Bad and Wicked and Wrong of me to find the Fake Fag stickers funny: http://www.lindqvist.com/index.php?ID=1189
Oh, and go ON, Mr D. You know you want to....

But you could go there and vote, Mr D - if you wanted.
Or you could just ignore it.
Apologies if anyone's upset - I thought it was interesting, but I'm a bit that way.

You lot have been busy this morning! Very nice summation of the Oetzi issue Ben.
I obviously didn't stretch enough after ball last night, my leg is all kinds of stiff this morning.

I enjoyed your link, Ben - the subversive in me enjoys the idea of sticking two fingers up at nannyness.

Oh, I'm not upset I just don't want to ruin a nice day here in the salon by ranting.
Plus I listen to death metal... I have album covers more shocking than those pictures.

Which reminds me, Mr D, My Dying Bride are releasing a new album. My friend the lovely B says its got some *very* sweary language in it.
They've got a couple of UK gigs too, but nowhere very accessable from what I can remember.
How foolish is it to go and see a band simply on the strength of its name? There's a Glam Goth band in Stoke called "Lesbian Bed Death" that I simpy HAVE to see. They're in Bradford in August.

Oh, and Ben's tale reminds me of a friend of mine who bought a packet of fags shortly after the warnings were first started... about five minutes later he went back into the shop and demanded his money back as he claimed that the "Smoking is highly addictive" message had shattered his illusions that he could give up any time he liked.

Dammit! I wish I wasn't so busy in August because I think I'd join you in investigating this band.
And no, there's nothing wrong with going to see a band purely because you like the name.

Re Oetzi: When the Collective held a public forum to discuss whether Oetzi should be banned, we h2g2 people went over and presented our evidence. I laid out the case for the atelier at A2466317.
I don't remember Oetzi EVER mentioning a wife, but there was a son who came to visit him one Christmas holiday, and for those few weeks Oetzi was a nice fellow. I don't think his problem was alcohol; I think it was mental.
I agree with what Ben says about the researcher drain and the role of the Editors (Italics). We have absentee editors. Back in them olden days, Italics used to participate just like any other researcher, and so we had the feeling that they were watching and interested in what we were talking about and what was going on site-wide. Obviously I never attended a Bitish meet, but part of the interest, as I recollect, was having a chance to interact with the entities in the office.

Lil, you were obviously there through the Oetzi escapades and I was not, so you are far more likely to be right about his situation than I was.
January 2004, eh?
How time flies.

[[Mr. D - One of those people who is subscribed to threads both silly and high-brow]] LTP use to too, nto that he makes much sense in either thread, One thing i liked about the drive down coast to west country is the change of style in the walling, round dorset way tollpuddle especialy springs to min not been down that way for 15 odd years but still re-call, much like the smell of flap-jacks.
Sussex nore into coppiceing hedges A27 used to have competitions along the round (least think its called coppicing where you cut into the tree/bush lay it on its side and weave it in with the tree/bush next to it, nature then takes over and creates the fence/wall line.
back to back log abit more Oetzi was round about nov2002/mar 2003 as far as i recall, for some unknown reason he took a likeing to me, got several threads in my message centre from him, that are there for the reading
