...or, to make it easier for a newcomer like Child to understand: If you see a link or URL looking like this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/F38024?thread=176747&latest=1 then it's in Alabaster, but if it looks like this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/F38024?thread=176747&latest=1 it's in Goo Replace 'classic' with 'alabaster' or the other way around, depending on your preference...

Watched a documentary on Swedish TV tonight...
The Swedes have adopted the largest number of children in the world, per capita...
...South Corea has sent away the largest number of children
Coincidence? Sadly - no...

Almost 10,000 Swedes were born in South Corea - and how come that the South Coreans are still sending children for adoption to Sweden?
This documentary was about 3 children who were adopted pretty late - one of them was 11 years old...
Now a grown up, he went to South Corea to find out - about his mother, and about the reason...
...and, by talking to people and discussing with students, he found out that - sadly enough - even today it is a shame for a non-married woman to give birth to a child - and Corean families will not adopt Corean children, because that would bring 'strange' blood into the family...

...so they prefer to send the children away to foreigners rather than taking care of them themselves, despite South Corea being a quite wealthy country - but what about the children? I cried when I heard them describe of not belonging anywhere - not being Swedish, not quite being Corean either...

i agree. especially when i've spent the last 20 minutes searching for my makeup, and wondering if roomie might have contributed to its current state of missing-ness!
where, in the name of all that is holy, has it gone?!

*admiring sea for her patience*
If I were you, I'm afraid I would have morphed into Kristina long ago and screamed and yelled and quarelled and finally kicked that roomie out... it's not a very adult or mature way of dealing with it, but then I can't stand people provoking me!
*remembering colleague in hotel several years ago being quite shocked*
There was this very drunken person who stumble into the lobby, sat down by a rented piano used earlier during an event, and starting to tinker with it...
...and when I told him to stop and get lost, he just ignored me and continued... saying something like 'cool it, honey'
- and that was it!
I left the front office desk, stepped up to him, slammed the lid over the keys, told him to get the h*ll out of there - and when he refused I grabbed him by the collar and tried to throw him out - but he was too heavy for me, so I ended up shaking him furiously until his teeth rattled...
...one of the guards from the restaurant noticed something going on and showed up, asking if I needed help...
'Yep' I said, finally letting go of the man, 'get him out of here!'
When I returned to the desk, I found my colleague laughing her head off, wondering what on I was doing...

Oh - that was before I discovered that Flamenco dancing is an excellent method for letting off steam every now and then instead of allowing it to pile up and go off with a Big Bang...
...on the other hand, I'm now better at letting warning signs show up early, meaning people usually back off before I even get close to an explosion... *nostalgical sigh* ...it's been years ago since I last went completely berserk...

Don't worry, Loony - I'm not as easily provoked as I used to be when I was younger - but then again, I can still be pretty impulsive at times...

Nowadays it takes a combination of several reasons before I go berserk... let's see - the last time was a couple of years ago when I yelled 'look where you're going, you big oaf!' at a skinhead who walked right into me without looking (and he had 4 or maybe 5 friends)
- I gave him a 'if-looks-could-kill' and, much to my surpise, he just stepped aside and mumbled 'sorry'...
...which really annoyed me - I had been looking for an excuse to beat somebody up...

Oh - will you calm down - I'll make sure to log out and log in as Kristina next time I go berserk!
