The Lovers' Christmas by lil
He holds her close,
And she him.
They gently stroke
The nearest limb
They're laid upon
The fireside rug.
He gives her blouse
A little tug.
She stays his hand
With a little fear,
For she knows her father
Is very near.
He gently pulls her
To her feet.
Takes her outside
To the garden seat.
Underneath their
Favourite tree,
He drops down
On to one knee.
With words of love,
He does not linger.
He slides the ring
Upon her finger.
Tears of acceptance
Blur her sight.
A lone chorister sings
'Silent Night'.
The story is told,
Nothing more to say,
Except wish you all
Love and Happiness this Day!
