Asmodai Dark (The Eternal Builder, servant of Howard, Crom, and Beans) Posted Sep 3, 2004
Okay ive had a few ideas that i think will help everything get established and take off
1) Make it a monthly thing. This way you can thoughrily check everything, ensure all the links work and such, and correct and mistakes with gramma etc. It also means you can make things look professional and put more effort into each one.
2) Before anything goes in, have someone else go through it. Now im not the greatest speller at the best of time, but i aint half bad when i put my mind to it.
3) Create a U page, and an email account (a hotmail one will do) so that people can submit things without everyone seeing it early. It also means that editors, guide ml people, etc can all go in one by one and do there task on everything without having you logging in to that account all the time, or asking you to make changes all the time.
It makes sense to me, what you reckon? Creating a seperate email and U-page is pretty easily done.

I'd have to agree on the thing about the U-pages and stuff...heck I've created two new acounts for societies...Although you probably shouldn't use the account's intro as the WOTeva page...it should be a new entry every month so as to create an archive

Thats the only troublesome thing really. If it grows quickly then it quickly involves a lot of book keeping. Look at the post as it is now. Theres about 30 different new guide enteries, and an archive for each one. Ouch.
(150+ enteries a year...)

well all you'd archive is the main page...all of the other stuff would be attached to those...and also I'm working on a badge for the newsletter...All I need to complete it is the U-number if you create a new account or the A-number for the main page...truely it would probably be easier if you created another account in this case since then I could just stick the U number in there and you could stick a link in the intro to that month's issue...anywho...you can go to A2623484 to see the badge sofar...I'm not entirely satisfied with the grafic but I couldn't find any pics of a newspaper...

i agree with everything you are saying
but there is one problem my dadas put this thing on called norton and put parent controls on the internet so i cant get and e-mail addie i can set up new U but i need an addie to register it. I also think some thinks like the votes and quiz should be changed before the month is up
supermoo

Can I suggest something like an Agony Aunt page for teens to express their anxieties, problems, ask for advice and so on? I wouldn't necessarily like to have to look after it myself (I'm no good at this Guide ML stuff!!!) but it might be a popular thing - u know, kids getting help and advice from other kids! What do you think?

SuperMoo: Now With Even More Online-ness Posted Sep 4, 2004
You wouldn't need a new e-mail address to add a new account...I did all three of mine off of the same e-mail address...

...what should the grafic be...I suppose it should be someone comforting someone else...
also others can still access deleted jurnal entries...you may instead want to post the email address and then we could e-mail you for the acount info...
oh and anoter thing...if everyone who is involved adds the account to their friends list then you can post anouncement in the jurnals and everyone will get them...

Somethings come up meaning i wont be able to do it tonight. Tomorrow night ill get it sorted.
I had the idea of putting it on an A page for awhile, then deleting it.
