A Conversation for Talking Point: What Should We Do With h2g2?

If I were wishing something for H2g2 it would be that a photo of researchers could be included in their personal space. Lots of other communities have this but not h2g2.
then there is forum searching. At one time I could look up an old conversation. Now the search engine will switch to only looking for things startingt with the letter A.
Finally I would wish for a choice in what guide entries show up in my personal space (rather than having them listed in reverse chronological order)

I don't think there's neccessarily anything stopping you putting a photo on your space. Gnomon had one for a while and may still.
That said, I doubt it's something the eds want to make widely available because it would be very difficult to police the PSs of under 18s to stop them doing it.

I agree with Elentari, personnal space who turn into sort of Facebook or MySpace, it's a bit more interesting to have to work with mud.
However, choosing what guide entry to show or proposing a whole range of others favorite guide entry could be a good idea instead of putting them in our personnal space.
That's all

If photos have been blobbed - for example, if they've been the The Post - then you can use them. Ordinary photos can't be used on PSs.
I don't know, I quite like the not having photos element. There are many places you can go and put your photo up and tell everyone what you're doing, but here one of the blessings is your anonymity. We interact based on what someone has written, not what we know about that person. I've had people's genders wring for *years*. I like that though.
