Psions are larger than palm sized, and have a keyboard.
This makes them extremely useful for typing on when on long train journey, eg a London tube ride into work.
Psion's suffer from having a not particularly brilliant screen.
They can't do colour (yet) but you can buy them with fancy colour cases.
Psions developed a new way of typing: the two thumbs technique.
You can hold a Psion with your fingers and type with both thumbs.

I've heard that Psion are producing some kind of mobile internet device and it looks to me like a series 5 with a larger screen (which I believe is colour but don't quote me on that). Now if this was to e set to default it's home page to h2g2 and someone was to write "DON'T PANIC" on the case in "large, friendly letters, then surely we should be hailing Mr Douglas Adams and holding him in the same reknown as the "Great Prophet Zarqwon". It's quite amazing when you think that something which seemed so much like science fiction a mere 20 years ago is about to me made possible to become reality. eh????

I don't know if you've found the answer yet. If not, then it is yes, probably.

You can get a pcmcia modem from ericsson, they should do one for your model of phone. You can also buy a pcmcia-slot add on for the psions, that you can plug your ericsson modem into. Its not too hard to configure the psion if you know your ISP's pop3&smtp IP addresses, their dialup number and your pop3 mailbox name & password.

If the above is all greek to you, um, well I can't help much from here, but I may be able to give you pointers to people who can. Psion tech. support would be a good start.

Its not easy, is it? I've just got a Revo, thinking to link to the net through an Infra Red linked mobile. But it seems incredibly complicated and would involve setting up a new ISP account and downloading a special browser (The shop recommended one called 'Opera'). Wish I'd spent the extra and got one 'internet ready' for countless hundreds more. We shall see if I can conquer the technology or not!

I had a Psion 5mx for years, and they're great little machine. An important tip is not to spill a full mug of coffee on one if you own one. They don't like that.

I upgraded last year to a series 7, big colour screen, fantastic keyboard, and just wonderful generally. Ideal for word processing, playing Nethack, and reading Ebooks. And the battery life is around 8 hours on a full charge, which is generally twice as good as most laptops, plus there's no bootup time, with everything being on flash memory, making it excellent for travelling with. If it were better at getting online, it'd almost be like the Guide itself.
