I'm up for a drink or two on the 14th (it is then isn't it as there is no date on the page )
The only thing about going to bar fringe is that it is probably 15 or more mins walk from chinatown.

Hmmm, is there a decent foodie type place anywhwere handy then?

Th nearest place with lots of food options is the printworks I think. There are also some cafe bar places in the northern quarter other than that I'll have to ask MC is she knows anywhere round there.
Or suggest we end up in the Lass or Salisbury...

'ang about a bit wouldn't a tram get us up to Chinatown a little quicker? Then end up at either the Lass or the Salisbury?

By the time you've walked to/from a tram (shudehill being the nearest station) you're probably nearly half way.
MC did mention an indian place near the bottom end of Rochdale road as another place for food that's near Bar Fringe.
Otherwise there is the Waterhouse (wavyspoon) and City Arms (round the back of the waterhouse) off St Peters Sq that could be used to be met in (or have a drink afterwards).

So from the info we've got so far, can we come up with a plan?

Metal Chicken Posted Aug 9, 2004
We seem to have a couple of options for plans here.
1. Drinks at Bar Fringe, eat at Nawab (the curry house round the corner on Rochdale Rd where we went for our Christmas dinner from work before heading to Bar Finge afterwards ), more drinks somewhere for those with the will to continue
2. Drinks at the Waterhouse or the Lass, food in Chinatown and more drinks in the Lass or the Waterhouse or wherever as required.
Any preferences for options 1 or 2? I'm easy as long as there's food and drink involved

Decisions, decisions, Grandad says, he's easy (but we all knew that ) but he wouldn't mind checking out bar Fringe and on the other hand I've always promised to take him up to the Lass.
Which ever one we don't do this time we can do at the Xmas meet .
As I've got foot & mouth problems - temporary cap on teeth & sore toe 'cos a stupid woman dropped an aerosol on it I'll vote for easy to chew food & least walking

Just a thought, Footbacon's been rather quiet, is she still coming?

She's subscribed to the other sign up thread, and is only a possible.

As Granny wants to go somewhere with not much walking, I'd say MC's suggestion number 2 is the one to go for.

Chinese sounds good to me. The next question is of course are we just going to choose a random chinese restaurant or does anyone have a place in mind.

Right, slight change. It turns out Footbacon will be in London over the weekend, so won't be coming. Shame that.
We still going ahead for this weekend?

I can see no reason to cancel it just because of that small change in Footbacon's plans.

Tis a shame that is 2Legs but I commend your dedication to the cause an' all that
So how about meeting at the hour of seven in the evening in the Waterhouse pub on Princess St (just opposite the town hall) and then going somewhere from there?
Or would some other time be better?
