I do like that explanation of cricket (I have a shorter version on a tea-towel) - I can't see how anybody could fail to understand the game after reading it.
Being a cricket scorer is *much* more complicated. Every time nothing happens, you have to write it down twice; and if something does happen, you have to make up to five notes about it.
I should switch to football, really.

I was scorer for my school basketball team. I got a little desk by the side of the court.

I did get on the bench once. The problem is I have no depth perception beacuse I can't see in 3D.
Oh, did you get my phantasy phootball bid?

I did, yes.
I had to rescind the one I got for Lee Hughes, though.

Didn't the player I bid for once get convicted for a role sin some fracas? Are there any players left who haven't been through the Criminal Justice system in any way?

Actually that reminds me, I saw a little boy in a SUnderland shirt today, he looked about five or six, his entire family wer e wearing sunderland shirts and his mum shouted him.
Kid was called Niall. I wonder where they got that name from.
I saw Niall Quinn in Tescos oonce. he'd just done a book signing in the bookshop opposite, and was doing a bit of shopping.
