A Conversation for Alzheimer's Disease - and what you can do to avoid it

Hi - I saw an article some while back that implicated aluminium in the causes of Alzheimers - apparently, when ingested in the form of sulphates or whatever it causes elements of the brain to short circuit
(presumably this happens at nerve level) Is this still an accepted culprit - I know that many people now avoid aluminium cooking pots as a result of the scare?

Opps! Sorry, I'm a bit late with this reply. I've been far away from computers for a while...
Yeah, Aluminium was implicated a few years ago, but recent research into this has found no link between the two.
There is a theoretical link. Free radicals might be one of the causes of brain cell death in Alzheimer's, and aluminium has been shown to increase the levels of these in brain cells (only in cell culture, i.e. not done on living brains, which would be a bit better as proof).
However, aluminium is not good for you at all, regardless of whether or not it causes Alzheimer's! I wouldn't imagine that using cooking pots made of it carried a significant risk, but you never know.
After all, I don't even know what my cooking pots are made of.
