You never say "named for" in British English. I'd never heard the expression until I started talking to Americans on the internet.
Practise and practice are confusing because in British English, the first is a verb and the second a noun. In American English it is different.

I guess it just must be one of those things you pick up.
Must be why I get so confused This entry started as my honours thesis, I had to ask my advisor whether it was practice or practise, and that's literally the only problem I had with the grammar. He, of course, told me the opposite to what you told me

Wasn't my thesis, sorry ... not that anyone cares My thesis was one American civil rights and the role of whites in the movement ...
This was a presentation I had to give for a medical history course. NZ medical history is boring I bored everyone in my class with everything I knew about American history instead

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
