Fizzysmiley - mouse, Hi. I saw your advertisement over on No no no!!

One entry per fortnight is a lofty goal, but too much for me. I write as slow as molasses in January; however, I will try to do more than I'm doing now.

Youch! Easy with that whip, girlfriend!smiley - winkeye

Okay, I have one entry pending, one in PR, and one in dishabille. So, I'm writing very fast, at least for me. smiley - smiley

I know, and I think I understand why, you hate that h2g2 is recycling older entries on the Front Page, because it indicates that insufficent numbers of entries are being submitted. But as a newbie, I totally love that the Front Page carries links to older entries, because I love to read about (and try!) cool stuff I haven't read yet. Today for example, there was this recipe for Eccles cakes. Sounds absolutely delicious, and I can't wait to try them. I never, ever heard of Eccles cakes. Or Eccles.

Okay, so I'm 8 time zones away from Eccles. But still even if I am unaware of their existence, with something as cool as h2g2, I should be able to find Eccles cakes easily. Experimentally I tried to see if I could find the Eccles cakes recipe using the search function within h2g2. I used the search terms "pastry recipe" and "cake recipe". No luck on the first page. smiley - erm

If you do get all the entries you desire, could we still have the best of the older entries featured on the front page? Somehow? Maybe the older ones could be listed in a different section or under a different heading.

I think the recycled Entries are great, Happy Nerd. How could I not? One of mine was there yesterday smiley - smiley

There have been days when there were no new Entries at all, though, and if this situation had continued we'd have been a bit stuffed. That's really what this Group is about; writing and reviewing Entries. We don't want to tell the Editors how many Entries we want to see on the Front Page, how many should be new and how many recycled, or talk about content or anything else. We just want to keep the Front Page moving with a good supply of Entries.

I think most people would agree that it's wonderful to see the best of the older Entries dusted off and put back on the Front Page, and personally I hope they continue to be put on it for a long time yet!

I'm with Rich here Happy Nerd .... I'd like to see maybe 3 new entries and one older one every day - that would be perfect (but that's only because there have always been 3 new entries since I joined).smiley - weird

I suppose I could live with two new entries and an older one.smiley - winkeye

Well done for stepping up and writing for the guide ... just when we needed you most.smiley - hug
