Hi Jon M,
Though I didn't go to see Simon and Garfunkel play at the monstrosity of the arena, I did spend last weekend just outside of Reading at the womad festival. Very good it was too with lots of music. I tried taking photos with and without flash and to be honest I can't tell which are which. I think the ones without flash are where it's all blured due to camera shake. With the bright stage lighting and distance between me and the performers I don't think the flash would have had any effect at all.
Still blurry pictures are OK when it's a bunch of people dancing to the band in a small dark tent
