A Conversation for ACEs pulldown list - January 2001

If you replace the bit of code that lists all our names between the
and tags with this:

(remember to remove the * after http. I put it there so it wouldn't be interpreted as an url)

The script will retrieve the list of users from a centralised location. You can add your personal links as well by preceding the with more tags. This way only one listing has to be updated to add new ACEs to all the lists. Currently I'm hosting it but if Peta's up to it, that's fine by me smiley - smiley. -And yes, it might be a bit slower but not by much. I'll leave it up to you to decide.

Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.)

Good thinking, Mr C! That also saves the problem of everyone having to update their page every time an ACE changes his or her name... smiley - smiley

Running the risk of repeating myself: A very good job done, EV & Mr Cynic *kind of wondering about spellig ACE with an Å, Danish letter as it is*

Now, after reading the full 3 lines of instructions and removing the
*, it even works... smiley - bigeyes

Yes, I wonder how you managed to figure out to remove the * smiley - smiley. I've updated the code with all the additional names Peta mentioned.

So, you wonder why I spell ACE with Å but the Euro symbol doesn't bother you at all? Hmmm... smiley - winkeye (And BTW, it's just because I feel stupid simply sticking ACE on the end of my name smiley - smiley.

Oh, no -- the Euro currency is something that a very small majority of Danes said "No thanks" to way back. And I'm afraid they're gonna do it again, come a referendum in September.

So for now it's just (almost) everybody else's money. Now, the Danish letters, on the other hand, is something we're picky about... smiley - smiley In case you weren't aware (I've lost track of everybody's nationalities), there are three of them: Æ, Ø and Å.

*slips for a minute into his role as Ambassador of Danevang to the Court of the Dragon Queen etc, where he sadly hasn't paid a vist for far too long*

You are hereby granted permission to use these letters in any imaginable way within the H2G2 premises smiley - winkeyesmiley - smiley

*back into normal, wonders if he's got any right whatsoever to say so*

Anyway, I have to do some of that w*** stuff, see you around.

Santragenius: Yes, I know those letters are Danish but I felt imaginative and I'm rather fond of the ÅC€ now smiley - smiley.

Greebo: Should that be Purrrfect? smiley - winkeye So, are you using the centralised version? And if so does it all work well?
