I don't think Starship Troopers can really fall under this category. It's far too knowing and subversive. And is pretty good fun too.

My own nomination would be Armageddon. And the love scenes in Attack Of The Clones, which are the worst ever set to celluloid.

Midnight Ice - the Daughter of a Cacophony of Chrysanthemums

I think Kung Pow's definitely in this "so bad it's good" category. I laughed out loud the first time I saw it - it's so cheesy you just can't help yourself.

Flash Gordon may be more camp than Christmas, but Sam Jones' performance was so awful that many of his lines had to be dubbed. I therefore stand by my "so bad it's good" nomination.

OK, but in fairness, "Gone with the Wind" inspired the single funniest TV skit I've seen. Carol Burnett in a spoof, walking down a spiral staircase in a formal Old South dress made with curtain material, the curtain rod sticking out the shoulders. "I saw it in the window and I just couldn't resist." I've seen it a dozen times and I still laugh out loud.

"plan 9 from outer space", definitely. i saw it on a double bill with "ed wood"; the fact that the one inspired the other is reason enough to love "plan 9".

both films, one purposely, the other not, fill those who grew up in california in those salad days with a bittersweet nostalgia for a world that will never be again, and perhaps, never really was.

well now that you mention it tibbie, i've always hated that movie; it's the most pompous bit of dreck that even hollywood has ever come up with, and it probably makes the lumière brothers spin like tops in their graves.

all that on top of its paying homage to slavery!

Yep, I'm with you riotact. What a pile of poo Gone with the Wind is, but when you think about it it was Hollywood's first 'show-off' film...

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am...

Hmm... I think Bio-Dome falls into this category. As does California Man.

There's just something about the sheer awfulness of Pauly Shore that makes his films such compelling viewing.
