What I would like to see ties in very much your aim, that the guide be mobile, and just how difficult it is to create text on mobile cellphones at anything other than snail pace.

Text messaging is a nightmare - I want 'C'. I have to press the number 1 button 3 times to access 'C', miss, get all Cyrillic by mistake, just to have to keep pressing and pressing and going round and round again.

Any user will tell you this.

The daft thing is that it doesn't have to be that bad!

I want to use the volume controls on the side of my phone as two shift keys. They are perfectly placed.

I want to press the number 1 key whilst depressing the 'volume up' key, so that I get to 'B', similarly 'volume down' and '1' in order to get to 'C'.
I want to use the more difficult (for two handed operation) menu and arrow buttons for special features/characters.

Maybe 'The future's bright', but it is a pity about the phone companies.
