Crisp packet packaging procedures.

2 Conversations

Ok so here it is right? Good.

For many years human kind lived their lives knowing that simple everyday tasks such as buying a packet of crisps would never cause them any kind of unnecessary stress. This is due to the incredibly clever way in which they were packaged. It was all to do with human psychology and how we associate different colours to different flavours, here is a brief list of a few of those associations:-

Light blue packet-Salt and vinegar flavour.
Dark blue packet-Ready salted flavour.

Dark green packet-Cheese and onion flavour.
Light green packet-Pickled onion flavour.

Dark brown packet-Beefy flavour.
Light brown packet-Chicken flavour.

Red packet-Tomatoe flavour.

You get the general idea. So imagine my disgust when, after buying what I thought to be a salt and vinegar packet of crisps (my favourite flavour) turned out to be cheese and onion (my least favourite flavour). "Wait a min, this is a blue packet. There must have been a mix up at the factory". I thought to myself, but on closer inspection I found that on the packet was printed "cheese and onion". IT WAS A BLUE PACKET!!!

Later I found that a lot of flavours/packaging had been mixed up. The snack company "Walkers" had, in their infinite wisdom decided to throw years of well thought out packaging techniques out the window.
And due to this thousands of people have had to re educate themselves in the skills of buying a packet of crisps without causing any unnecessary stress.

Nice one "Walkers".
