I stand in awe of your in-depth look into the movie Very wise and learned, I'd say. I was, as your so called fanatic potterphile, disappointed at how much book was not in the movie, but I must remember it isn't the book, nor can it be five hours long. I was stunned by the new-found beauty of the Hogwart's castle, like the giant swinging pendulum and clock that popped up frequently. Very different, very neat.
As an official Potter Scholar, I thank thee for your review

Cheers Katie, I was worried I might have ticked off the more dedicated Potter followers... I've read the first few books, but not recently (luckily the bit of the review where I commented on Rita Skeeter being cut didn't make it past the first draft ). As I said when I reviewed Philosopher's Stone (all those years ago...) utter devotion to the text of a book doesn't necessarily makefor the best adaptation.
I'm a bit disappointed Cuaron's not been signed up for another, but at least this way the films will stay fresh.

Rita Skeeter was cut! I nearly forgot! Man, it's been forever since I read the 3rd book...and I've read the first three four times each! Yes, I'm a loser.
Well I agree with your comments and thank you for your opinions Cheerio!

Wasn't Rita Skeeter in the fourth book?
quiz (too lazy to get up and check)

Er.... Rita Skeeter *is* in the fourth book, hence I'm quite glad I did bother to check (for once)!
Probably got her mixed up with the character Emma Thompson (appalling over)played.
Key: Complain about this post
