Elsewhere online there are websites for the study of the Russian Special Forces (Spetsnaz) use of the short army shovel as a combat weapon, which would be quite useful if you needed to assault an enemy position without firing a gun. Also, there are a few places where one can buy a surplus Spetsnaz shovel, or an American-made reproduction (of which I have one). It works very well as a tool, and is reassuring to carry as a weapon.
