Entries on the Romans

I know there isn't at the moment, but I was planning to do a whole series of entries on Roman Britain. Though they would focus mainly on Britain, a lot of it would be relevant to the whole Empire.
I do Ancient History and have a whole load of essays which I'm going to convert into entries soon. These cover the military, trade and travel, agriculture, minerals, pottery, art, town and villa buildings, Roman York, Roman St Alban's, Lullingstone villa and Lockleys villa. I thought I might also write some on other factors like Boudicca's Revolt, Hadrian's Wall and the Antonine Wall, and mayb on the reistance against the conquest. I was hoping to do it all as a big project and was going to get onto it now my exams are over.
What do you think?

The Romans are fascinating, and I'd certainly read those entries
Take your time. Rome wasn't built in a day.
And when you're writing, keep in mind the house style. When in Rome... do as the Romans do.

Elentari: Oh yeah, that sounds like a fantastic idea. I really love Ancient and Medieval History, so anything from those time periods gets my interest immediately!
I'm sure we'd all love to see some entries on the Romans!

Thanks for the support. I will keep in mind the h2g2 style, and put them up for peer review when I'm done, but some of them are bound to be a bit dry because of the subject matter. The minerals one, for instance - I can't imagine anyone will want to read them, but I feel I should include it for completeness.

The first eight are pretty much up now, but it'll take time to write an introduction (overview of the Roman period of British history) and the other entries on specific events.
Paully: I was hoping these could all be done in one big project like Atlantic Cable's entries on tv and film Sci-fi. Would that be possible? I just feel that they all ought to go together.
I'd appreciate your thoughts. As they've een converted from college essays, I knew some of it wuld be dry and of no interest to anyone not studying it, so I took those out, but if anything doesn't make sense or is so boring you want to cry, please let me know!
I'd also appreciate your thoughts about whether it's actually worht putting the essays on Roman York, Roman St. Albans, and Lockleys and Chedworth villas up.
Phew! Thanks!

Those look pretty good I'll be sure to read them in PR.
Did anyone ever adopt this entry? It's got the potential to be a great entry.

Woah, sorry aout all the typos my last post!
Thanks Jodan, but what do you mean, "Did anyone ever adopt this entry?" Do you mean from the Flea Market? I'm confused!

Oh, I see. I'm getting so wrapped up in my own entries I completely forgot about that! Well, I agree it would be a great idea. There's already an entry on Roman roads and bridges in the edited guide, but that still leaves plenty of room for more!

I've now redone the introduction as an entry called "The Romans in Britian: A Brief History, andI'm quite proud of it. I suppose I see it as a sort of linking entry for the others. Sorry, is this getting boring? I'll shut up.
Paully - is it possible to somehow enter them all to peer review at once, together?

Elentari - I'd suggest you enter them all to Peer Review whenever's best for you. Just supply us with a list of all of the entries you're submitting, and we'll ensure that we send them out in batches to a limited number of efficient Subs, and consequently we'll be able to upload them all onto one front page on one day.
Does that sound good to you? Or would you prefer to do it another way?

I've just put the entries on Roman York and Roman St. Albans in PR (along with an entry on offials in Ancient Athens - sorry for the shameless plug ) and I'll probably put up the ones on Lockleys and Lullingstone villas tomorrow.
