The H2G2 Politics Forum

The H2G2 Politics Forum is an international, inclusive (both left and right wing viewpoints, libertarian and authoritarian, etc.) place for people to publish articles and talk about a broad range of political topics (anything from the influence of utilitarianism on early 19th century anarchist thought to comments on the election campaigns of various parties in whatever country you live in).

Many thanks.
By the way, feel like writing an article for it?

An article? You've already got my generic views, from my Libertarianism article. I don't really have time for anything else, because I'm involved in a rather large University project at the moment. But if I ever feel the need to rant, I'll put something down, and let you know.

OK, good idea, hope the University project goes well, it seems quite an epic task . Do you know of any other h2g2ers who might be interested in writing an article or two for it?

You might find some people in the forums attached to the Libertarianism article. I wouldn't worry too much about building the library at the outset of this particular club. At this point, I would just focus on bringing people in, and getting the conversations going. The conversations have a wonderful way of spawning articles. Trust me... my Freedom From Faith Foundation is probably the closest thing on H2G2 to what you're trying to create.
You might find this particularly useful... it's some tips I wrote up for attracting members to a new club: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A414721

Oooh, I like the Freedom from Faith Foundation! I'll have a read of some of the articles tomorrow when it's not so late. I'm tempted to post an ad there, but I think it would be bad manners
I had a look at your tips and they seem like good advice, I'll go into action soon.

If I may make another suggestion... I originally created the Business Forums just for general chat, and it was decided that any hot topics would be opened up in seperate forums. Not many conversations have moved into seperate forums, though, and the seperate ones never seemed to get as spirited as the general one.
So, it may be worth your while to create a general forum at your politics page. People can bring up what seems to them to be small issues, and they can often swell into large discussions. It's a model that has worked very well at the Foundation. Incidentally, there's a very good reason why I insist that new members announce themselves in the Business Forum... it gets them subscribed to that forum and often generates conversation. The more people subscribed to that conversation, the more lively the conversation becomes.
