It (JavaScript) has had some odd knock-on effects on the page when viewed in Alabaster skin and it looks as though the "powers that be" are removing JavaScript compatibility in the near future so I won't have the chance to experiment further

Bleagh. Just because they don't work in that ugly skin. Why don't they just remove the Alabaster skin and replace it with something nicer-looking that works with JavaScript...? Heck, they know nobody likes Alabaster anyway.

I've pared it down to the bare bones...it now works with both skins but I'm told some Browsers don't like it .
Something to do with the comment symbol which is used to demarkate the code section?
