It's gotta be jazz

Candlelight, wine and Miles Davis (kinda blue, birth of the cool), John Coltrane (giant steps, a love supreme, blue train), Bill Evans (Waltz for Debbie)are all surefire romantic mood setters

Dexter Gordorn or Gerry Mulligan for cool sax,

Billie Holliday for sad romantic vocals.

Sarah Vaughn for sass (make her wait until after she listens to the duet with Ray Charles on 'baby its cold outside' before she leaves - and she won't)

Chet Baker singing 'my funny valentine' will have anyone who's halfway intrested in you tearing their clothes off in no time at all.

Does it have to be this sentimental stuff?

Jazz can also be sweaty, steaming hot, passionate music.
So if you succesfully past the candlelight stage, played all your old Barry White albums and feel a bit tipsy from the champagne:

AFROBEAT!
Try Fela/Femi Kuti!

Egads! a thousand pardons but Eastenda is entirely correct, it is Betty Carter, not Sarah Vaughn. I knew that, honest, but I posted in haste and bolluxed it up.

I don't know if it's "jazz" but "These arms of mine" by Otis Redding is definetely all systems GO! Frankly, anything from 'Dirty Dancing' that conjures up memories of Patrick Swazy in tight pants is all systems GO!

I suggest:
a minot goof by cal Tjader!

and check out this CD:

Deelder draait

It's problaby not available in any musicstore else then in Holland...
but you can find it at the Itunes music store, order it or whatever other dark illegal ways you might have to get your hands on this...

Who is this Deelder guy?
He's a bit of a local (Dutch) celebrity who's know for his incedible collection of jazz records. And of course the amount of drugs he's used, but that's more the srartingpoint of fame, right?

The cd is taken from his (huge) collection and has some good rare versions of jazz standards and a couple of rare tracks!
