Hi Inky.
I was halfway through writing an entry on Finnish pronunciation when I had the sense to make a search for an existing one outside the Edited Guide. I'll of course drop mine; yours is basically finished and a very good entry.
Just wanted to say that you're free to look into my entry A2905616 and take anything that you might find useful.
This'll teach me to use the search engine more often...Hemmetti.

So you too have tried your hand at explaining the sheer simplicity of the Finnish pronunciation system...
..Which suddenly isn't so simple when explained in a way that English-speakers can cope with. Tough isn't it!

Alas, all those people who talk of Töör-*ku* and Tam-*pair* think they ARE pronouncing it as it's written...
What can you do. I just have to be very patient with my relatives.

I remember a serious article in Iltasanomat considering a name change for the sinking hell.

Though I think the alternative for Iltasanomat goes much lower.
