h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Okay I woukld like to ask some questions of you.

1) please list your exprience of Hunting. Becuase If you are an Exprienceing Anti or Sab, why are you trooting out the same bleeding arguements? Which have been discredit and are now unacceptablr.

2) First of all, hounds are fed by fallen stock collection. This meaning that dead farm animals are collected and then skinned, butchered or incinerated. When BSE was rife, the cattle that was brought in (they were only brought in if they shown no signs of BSE) couldnt have their spines split, erradicating the risk of BSE being transfered to the hounds. Also, when I worked at Kennels, the meat was cleaned every day, twice a day. Also, it is seen fit to feed animals food not deemed good enough for human consumption, yet you complain that these hounds arent being fed gourment meals. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT GOES ON IN A KENNELS??????

3) Hunting has been PROVED to be no more and no less cruel than Any other forms of culling. Did you know that? But considering that Hunting has a lot more of a chance of instanteous kill than Shooting, you still want to bann it. Foxes will be controlled, if you have a problem with that, go and petition parliment to make Foxes an endangered spieces. You would prefer to have foxes die a slow death by snaring than a quick death by Hunting. Becuase if you ban hunting thats whats gonna happen. Hunting was proved by burns to be instanteous in nearly all cases. Wether throw to massive internal injuries, to a broken neck. It also has a much higher chance of Instanteous kill than shooting.

4) What Anti Propoganda are you churning out now? If Hounds were killed at 6, it would live the hunts desperately short of Hounds, and eliminated of exprienced hounds. Base your arguements on Facts, not Anti propganda. There is certian cretoria for any hound to be put down, much in the same in everyday life. You dont like that? Petition parliment and get the law changed, dont use that as an arguement to bann hunting.

5) Believe it or not, Foxes do not live in the 10th, 15th or even 20th century, they live in the 21st, where Sheep, and chcikens supplement their everyday diet. When I worked on a farm a year ago, I would pick up a dead sheep due to foxes a week. And so would the surrounding farms. This adds up to quite alot of sheep at the end of the day.

6) Expert Marksmen? What qualifies and expert marksmen? Also Have you have you head in the sand for the past 10 years? Obvisously, otherwise you would have releaised that the farming industry is in extreme decline, So much so in fact, that two farmers living near me have commited suicide due to their finical problems. They can barely afford to pay Labourers, let alone an Expensive marksmen. Also you give anymore impression that farmers dont look after their livestock, and I will be vry tempted to smack you one. COnsidring that you probably havent spent entire days in a Lambing Penn?

7) Just because something is ineffective, is no reason to ban it. Otherwise Aushwitz would be good, merely because it was 'effective'. Culling methods work together. BTW did you know the most effective pest control is the 1.1 Fiesta? Death isnt instantous when one of those runs over you.

8) A person once said that there are lies, damn Lies and statistics. Well there are. A GALLUP poll, the one most recently conducted, discovered that the majority of people living in proximtity to a hunt supported hunting, and that even more, would strongly oppose a bann on hunting. Statistic work both ways, and there have been LOADS of occassions when the Majority is mistaken, prejudiced and just plain ingorant.

9) Surplus killing? Tell that to my mother, who lost all but3 chickens out of 14. But only one was takened. Surplus killing my ass. Even Lions only go for one target. And for you saying the should be properly protected, these are free range chickens, in every sense of the word. You wanted organic foostuffs, you get them, but when it can be used as an arguement for hunting, you suddendly dont want to know.

10) Drag Hunting is not the answer. It has been suggested that only 1% of the hunts urrently invovled would find employment in Drag hunting, 3 or 4. Even drag Hunts acknowledge this. This is becuase Hunting isnt a bunch of Hoorah Henry's hunting on their own land, it is normal people, riding with a service to the farmers (I.E. Pest Control, Incineration, Fallen Stock Collection) over the farmers land. This isnt possible if there is no land to hunt over is there? Becuase why would a farmer let someone ride over their land for no return? Its called a Quid Pro Quo, or Cooperation. You should learn that word.

The More intelligent things for people like you to do would be to A) make the fox an endangered spieces, as its going to be killed regardless if hunting is banned. The only thing with hunting being bnned, would be the upsurge in snaring and shotgunning.
B) Actually go after things which are cruel, like Angling, and Game Shooting, since these are Exploitation of animals for human pleasure? The very thing your against?

BTW you actually KNOW anything about shooting? Or will you sprout off again?
