A Conversation for To Cheat or Not to Cheat

Is this the same as cheating? I don't want to use cheats in games to make them easier, I agree that defeats the object of playing the game.
On the other hand, I have played some games where I am absolutely stumped as to how to proceed. Perhaps I haven't got the right mindset!
The trouble is, it's difficult to get one hint & stop there - you know you're only going to come up against another obstacle & need help again!

If the object of that part of the game is to get past the obstacle that's stumping you -- i.e. if you're faced with something intended to be a puzzle -- then you're surmounting the challenges presented by the game without using only your own abilities -- which looks like cheating, yes. If it's just bad design that's confusing you then it can probably still be called cheating, but possibly in a qualified sense.

Qualified cheating?
So long as a reasonable number of people can do the game properly, then bad design isn't a good excuse. No, I'll just have to own up to occasional cheating then!
