I wish I had time right now to read thru all these posts.. anyway, I would consider it an honour to join you, as you're a damned interesting bunch
I would like to be entitled The Noumenon, and I suppose I will opt for the Academia chair, although I am certain to lapse into humour. Given the likely topics, I would say it is inevitable
It is unlikely I will limit myself to discussing any one particular belief system; is that ?

Is it ok? I would say it's almost obligatory, insofar as we have any rules here at all... Uncle Sellers should be along soon enough to confirm your membership, but until then I recommend that you pop along to the main forum to, erm, well, say hello to people...

Uncle Sellers?
Actually, I don't do confirmations in side forums. I prefer to have new members announce themselves in the Business forum, so that everyone gets a chance to meet you.
Does that count as a rule?

Lear mentioned the "main forum" and the Colonel the "business forum". Quick sanity check: they *are* referring to "Business Forum Something-something", aren't they?
I'm asking because there seems to be *very* little going on here, compared with the (Good Olde?) pre-BBC days. Where's all the action?

Yes, it is the Business Forum Something-something. Before the shutdown, the place was always hot and cold... it would go quiet for two weeks, then get loud for a couple. It's starting to warm up a bit. Some of our members have definitely gone MIA, but we're still acquiring new ones, and some of the old ones will probably return eventually.

*wandering along aimlessly, contemplating the silence, hoping to get the time to read all the prior postings to Business Forum Something-something...*
Yes, I certainly will. Is it ok if I just jump right in with my usual inane comments?
This has been a very busy time, especially for ACEs. Also, in RL I have had to contend with doctoring a lame horse, euthanizing a dying rescue hedgehog, repairing a miserable piece of s**t car, and helping my sister who just broke her arm a few days ago.
I have introduced myself on the Business Forum Something-something, and I will shortly read thru the posts...
Since I had the blessings and benefits of education at a Catholic residential school, I'm sure I can add something to the Something-something forum...

No worries about the time frame, Tal... I just noticed that you'd been elsewhere on H2G2, but hadn't said hello to the rest of the gang here, so I wanted to drop a little reminder. And don't worry too much about the backlog... you can pretty much just dive right into the conversation. We've drifted a hundred topics since the business forum opened last. We used to open a new one every so often, and so the business forums were numbered. But then H2G2 shut down for a while, and when we came back, all of the previous forums were (and still are) hidden. I don't remember what number we were on, so we're on number something-something now.
What number comes next?

Something else, I believe. I am the official Keeper of Something Else, but you may use it if you wish
