A Conversation for Film : Run Lola Run

Run Lola Run was one of the best movies I have ever seen. I almost didn't get to see it, because here in Oklahoma foreign films aren't very popular. One theater was playing it, and they didn't even have it on the marqee (sp?), we had to ask to see if it was playing. It's sad to think of all the people who went to see it, and when it wasn't on the marqee, saw something else instead. No wonder foreign films don't do well here.
I don't normally like techno music either, but I got the soundtrack, and I listen to it constantly.
Good job!

I would like to get the soundtrack, but it is in none of the shops ! Bassa's that they are. This soundtrack is one that goes on the friends list (you tell your friends 'if you see it buy it for me, I will pay you back' - along with the soundtrack to Convoy

Why didn't you vote for it? Was South Park really better than Run? Go on change your vote, you know you want to Lola for best picture

I didn't vote for South Park. I voted for American Beauty, because I think we should stick to the nominees, because I like structure.
I thought SP:BLU was brilliant. It may not of had the same impact 'over there' as here, because you don't have the Motion Picture Association of America. The whole movie was about censorship, which Trey Parker has had a lot of problems with. Have you seen it though? I couldn't tell if you were asking because you didn't know or because you couldn't believe that I thought it was better than RLR. And I do. Believe it or not, SP:BLU is a very important movie.
But, I loved RLR very much. I thought it was fun, exciting and beautiful. And, it made me want to run which is a rare occurance.

Unfortunatly I missed Southpark when it hit the cinema But I will get it out when it gets to video The reason I was asking is to drum up support for RLR All the nominee's do not have any trouble getting publicity, but RLR is just a wee film. You were just kind enough to stop by my page and comment (and thank you for the kind comments), so I thought I would try to get you to change your mind Though looking at the thread again RLR seems to be doing pretty well without any help from me

You should ask DD about getting a link to here from the Film Society page. I bet he would do it.
Do you know if RLR is nominated for anything IRL?
YES!
Crescent Posted Mar 10, 2000

Regarding his girlfriend's past experiences, Dante was #37. 'In a row?' Does any of this ring a bell?

Dogma is the only Kevin Smith movie I saw in the theater. I could have seen Mallrats, but I didn't know anything about it, and thought it looked stupid. Shame on me.
Speaking of seeing movies more than once, I saw the South Park movie in the theater 8 times 4 of those were at full price movies and three of those were in different states! The rest were at the dollar movies. I had to be there to support it. It was over the heads of most of their demographic, so it didn't do so well at the box office.

Dollar movie? Like you pay one dollar to see a film?

Actually, it's a dollar and a half. It's only after a movie has been out for a while, and the film is in bad shape. So are the theaters for that matter. But, I find there is a certain charm in these theaters, because the only places I go see new movies is in theaters with stadium seating, and seeing one w/o takes me back a ways.
