A Conversation for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

I found Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets to be but an owl burp short of a horror movie.
The film contains violence, abuse, swearing (by the children) and various blood & gore scenes; the body count is reminiscent of Starsky & Hutch. However, as the latter is now shown during prime-time children's viewing rather than late night as it was when I was a nipper, maybe I am just out of touch.
Ironic, then, that the heavily tattoed Liverpudlian skinhead sitting next to me in the cinema shrieked with fear at the 'spider-surprise' scene whilst I'm pretty sure most of the kids in the place were yawning by that point.
